AbelCine is a leading Digital Cinema and HD camera equipment supplier to the motion picture and broadcast industries. We offer sales, training, rental and repair services to the professional filmmaking community with offices in NY, CHI and LA. Our NY facility in Brooklyn’s Industry City is currently seeking a Strategic Buyer/Merchandiser to join our Product Strategy team. This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic, hard working individual to participate in our exciting and fast paced industry.

This position would encompass the following key responsibilities:

  • Serve as the strategic lead in the company’s relationships with assigned manufacturers and suppliers and assume ownership of those relationships
  • Key point of contact and meet with assigned manufacturers and suppliers on a regular basis
  • Serve as point of contact for sales teams for logistic issues, coordinating incoming shipments and checking ETA for assigned manufacturers and suppliers
  • Coordinate with Customer Service, Fulfillment and accounting in order to process returns to vendors and to ensure that credit policies and restraints are being met
  • Develop and implement sales strategies for all business channels to achieve sales goals for assigned product lines
  • Interface with sales teams to develop strategies for consultative sales
  • Work with the in house omni-channel team and third party electronic retailers (Amazon, Google) to develop strategies for e-commerce
  • Coordinate with assigned manufacturers and suppliers to develop marketing plans that include sales, exposure, and branding strategies
  • Implement tactical merchandising programs, promotions, bundles, etc. to achieve strategic goal through e-com and account sales channels
  • Negotiate tactical pricing and programs to ensure that AbelCine is the best competitive situation
  • Purchase product from assigned manufactures and suppliers to support sales strategies and achieve inventory turnover targets
  • Analyze sales history and market trend data to forecast purchases
  • Monitor stock on all inventory platforms
  • Manage overstock inventory and development methods to sell aging stock

Requirements for a successful candidate:

  • An undergraduate degree or a minimum of five years of related experience or training in business management
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing role within broadcast, video/film industry or other high technology products
  • 2+ years of experience in e-commerce sales organization
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to confidently negotiate with all levels of management
  • Ability to build positive working relationships, both internally and externally
  • Impeccable organization skills, efficiency, accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Salesforce and Mac OS are highly desired
