AbelCine, a leading technology provider for the broadcast, production, and new media industries, is seeking a skilled Compositor & Colorist for a temp-to-perm position with one of our key clients. This role is centered on green screen keying, high-end compositing, and final color correction for video and event content.
As a secondary responsibility, the ideal candidate will also contribute to text animation and motion graphic design, supporting a wide range of branded visual media across live events, video, and digital platforms.
This is a fast-paced, creative, and collaborative in-person role supporting visually ambitious, high-profile productions.
Key Responsibilities:
Primary – Compositing & Color Correction - Perform green screen keying and cleanup, ensuring clean mattes, realistic edges, and seamless integration between talent and digital environments.
- Composite live-action footage with CG backgrounds, motion graphics, and other visual layers.
- Apply color correction and grading using DaVinci Resolve or similar tools to ensure visual consistency, style alignment, and platform readiness.
- Match multi-camera footage and balance lighting for continuity across shots.
- Deliver final, polished visuals optimized for large-scale event screens, social media, and web distribution.
Secondary – Motion Graphics & Text Animation - Create dynamic text animations, lower thirds, title cards, and other motion graphics elements using After Effects.
- Support the design team in animating brand assets and building visual elements for video content and presentations.
- Ensure graphic elements adhere to brand guidelines while remaining visually fresh and engaging.
Production Support & Workflow - Collaborate with editors, designers, and producers to assemble final deliverables.
- Prepare, export, and manage renders across multiple platforms and specs.
- Maintain organized project files and naming conventions to support team collaboration.
- Respond quickly to feedback and implement revisions with a high level of precision.
Required Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and work experience.
- 5+ years of professional experience in compositing, keying, and color correction.
- Mastery of:
- Adobe After Effects (keying, tracking, animation)
- DaVinci Resolve or equivalent color grading software
- Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop
- Demonstrated skill in:
- Seamless green screen compositing and cleanup
- Matching lighting, perspective, and motion between elements
- Polished, professional-grade color finishing
- A portfolio or reel showcasing green screen work and color correction.
- Experience preparing content for live events and multi-platform distribution.
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience creating animated typography and brand motion graphics.
- Familiarity with 3D tools (Cinema 4D, Blender, Unreal Engine) for compositing integration.
- Experience working with Disguise Designer or similar real-time playback tools.
- Basic sound syncing and video finishing skills.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.

- Ability to distinguish colors, fonts, and images
- Ability to concentrate on detailed tasks
- Occasional lifting of light equipment (e.g., printers, monitors)
- Standing or walking for short periods, such as during meetings or presentations

This is a temp-to-perm position with an estimated temporary period of around 3 months.
Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM.
The role is on-site at our client's Midtown Manhattan location.
Compensation Range: $2,0000 - $2,500 per week.
